How to Fix a Dripping Moen Bathroom Sink

A dripping bathroom sink is not only annoying but also wasteful. Not only does it waste water, but it can also increase your water bill. If you have a Moen bathroom sink that is dripping, don't worry — it's a relatively easy fix. With a few simple steps, you can stop the drip and get your sink back in working order.

Before you start, you'll need to gather a few tools. You'll need a Phillips head screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, and a pair of pliers. You may also want to have a bucket or bowl on hand to catch any water that drips out of the sink.

  1. Turn off the water supply. The first step is to turn off the water supply to the sink. There are usually two shut-off valves under the sink, one for hot water and one for cold water. Turn both valves clockwise to turn off the water.
  2. Remove the aerator. The aerator is a small device that is attached to the end of the faucet spout. It helps to create a stream of water that is less likely to splash. To remove the aerator, simply unscrew it by hand.
  3. Inspect the O-rings. Once the aerator is removed, you will see two O-rings. These O-rings create a seal between the aerator and the faucet spout. If the O-rings are worn or damaged, they can cause the sink to drip. Inspect the O-rings carefully and replace them if necessary.
  4. Reinstall the aerator. Once the O-rings have been replaced, reinstall the aerator by screwing it back onto the faucet spout. Tighten the aerator by hand until it is snug.
  5. Turn on the water supply. Once the aerator is reinstalled, turn on the water supply to the sink. Check for leaks. If there are no leaks, the drip should be stopped.
If the sink is still dripping, you may need to replace the cartridge. The cartridge is a small device that is located inside the faucet handle. It controls the flow of water through the faucet.
  6. To replace the cartridge, follow these steps:
    1. Remove the handle. To do this, loosen the set screw that is located on the side of the handle.
    2. Remove the cartridge. To do this, use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the cartridge in place.
    3. Install the new cartridge. To do this, insert the new cartridge into the faucet body and tighten the screws.
    4. Reinstall the handle. To do this, insert the handle onto the faucet body and tighten the set screw.

Once the cartridge has been replaced, turn on the water supply to the sink and check for leaks. If there are no leaks, the drip should be stopped.

If you have followed all of the steps above and the sink is still dripping, you may need to call a plumber. There may be a more serious problem that requires professional repair.
