How to Install a Kohler Bathroom Sink Faucet

Installing a Kohler bathroom sink faucet is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few hours. By following these step-by-step instructions, you can ensure that your new faucet is installed correctly and functioning properly.

Tools and Materials You'll Need:

  • Kohler bathroom sink faucet
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Plumber's putty
  • Basin wrench
  • Teflon tape
  • Phillips screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Turn Off the Water Supply:

Before you begin, turn off the water supply to the sink. You can do this by closing the shut-off valves located under the sink.

2. Remove the Old Faucet:

Using an adjustable wrench, loosen the nuts that hold the old faucet in place. Once the nuts are loose, you can remove the old faucet by lifting it straight up.

3. Clean the Sink Surface:

Clean the area around the sink where the new faucet will be installed. Remove any old sealant or debris that may be present.

4. Apply Plumber's Putty:

Roll out a small amount of plumber's putty into a thin rope. Place the rope of plumber's putty around the base of the new faucet.

5. Install the Gaskets and Washers:

Place the gaskets and washers that came with the new faucet onto the water supply lines.

6. Connect the Water Supply Lines:

Connect the water supply lines to the faucet body. Hand-tighten the nuts until they are snug.

7. Install the Faucet onto the Sink:

Carefully place the faucet onto the sink. Align the base of the faucet with the hole in the sink.

8. Secure the Faucet:

Use the mounting nuts to secure the faucet to the sink. Hand-tighten the nuts until they are snug.

9. Tighten the Nuts:

Using an adjustable wrench, tighten the mounting nuts until they are secure. Do not overtighten the nuts.

10. Apply Teflon Tape:

Wrap a few layers of Teflon tape around the threads of the faucet spout.

11. Install the Faucet Spout:

Insert the faucet spout into the hole in the faucet body and tighten it securely.

12. Turn on the Water Supply:

Slowly turn on the water supply to the sink. Check for any leaks around the base of the faucet or the water supply lines.

13. Adjust the Water Temperature:

Turn the faucet handles to adjust the water temperature as desired.

14. Final Touches:

If necessary, use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the handles or any other components of the faucet.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed your new Kohler bathroom sink faucet. Enjoy your beautiful and functional new fixture.
