Safety First:

Before you begin, make sure to turn off the water supply to the sink by closing the shut-off valves under the sink. Also, place a bucket under the sink to catch any water that may leak out during the process.

Step 1: Remove the Old Drain Assembly

Use the pliers to loosen the slip nut that connects the tailpiece (the vertical pipe under the sink) to the drain assembly. Be careful not to damage the tailpiece. Once the slip nut is loose, pull the drain assembly up and out of the sink.

Step 2: Clean the Drain Hole

If your sink has a pop-up drain, reattach it by inserting the lift rod into the drain assembly. Make sure the rod is properly aligned and the drain functions smoothly.
